Well, in my humble opinion, I would say that the Chinese language is one of old written languages currently being used. I mean, Vedic Sanskrit, the earliest form of Sanskrit, appeared as early as 1500 BCE, whereas oracle bone script, the earliest Chinese inscription, appeared as early as 1250 BCE. And Sanskrit is also used by people of nowadays.
