红 is red. It is very distinct, you can’t mistaken it. Blood is red and one know what is red when one see red.
As a Hokkien we know what is red (ang as in angpow) and we know what is 赤(chiak/qiak)。QiakSek or 赤色 is not red, it is our skin colour。赤裸裸 is when we see our skin all over。赤道 is the “Way” to be en-light-en, to get 赤chi。
When we (Hokkien) say 赤qiak we don’t mean 红ang which is red. So, what is 赤？Is ⿱土⿰丿小?
The Word from the beginning says it is picture of 大，what is below looks like 火fire but it is not the colour of roasted man。While 大 is man with his hand stretch horizontally, 火 is man with his hand raised towards the heavens。
赤 is ⿱土⿰丿小。土 is soil 小 is tiny 丿 is 人, 尘 is dust 赤chi is 赤-nese for Adamah (dust of the ground).
As a colour 赤 is red
黄 is yellow 白 is white and 戠 is orange
